Summary

Streaming Virtual Texturing (SVT) will support baked lightmap textures.

Intended Outcome/Use Case

Depending on the complexity of a scene and the quality needed for baked global illumination, baking lightmaps could result in many high-resolution textures in a Scene. This can easily have an undesirable effect on GPU memory usage and texture loading times at runtime. With SVT support, Unity will only stream lightmap texels that are needed and are visible to the Camera's frame. As a result, you can utilize higher quality lightmaps in dense Scenes for better Global Illumination presentation.
