UnityLinker is used for removing (stripping) Intermediate Language (IL) code from compiled C# assemblies during player build. Which both reduces the amount of time IL2CPP spends converting the stripped (smaller) assemblies to C++ and also reduces the platform executable size due to less code being compiled/included.
The UnityLinker relies on code from Microsoft's MonoLinker and this feature updates the MonoLinker to a newer version. The update provides the following enhancements:
- Improved method body stripping
- Improved detection of C# reflection usage.
- Improved delegates stripping.
