Bring the power of BIM onto the jobsite

Miscommunication causes more meetings, change orders, and rework. VisualLive’s augmented reality (AR) software allows real-time 3D visualization, collaboration, and field-to-office communication across all stages of construction, such as design review, QA/QC, facility management, and more.

Optimize your models, maintain critical data

In a few simple clicks, you can bring your large BIM models to HoloLens and mobile devices within minutes. VisualLive’s cloud-based software quickly converts your files – keeping all geometries, textures, and materials, and critical information you need in the field.

Key benefits

Import from any BIM software

VisualLive has plug-ins for Autodesk Revit and Navisworks, and the web uploader interface supports 70+ 3D file formats. You can push large BIM/CAD model files to mobile, tablet, or HoloLens headsets in one click.

Improved QA/QC and installation verification

1:1 scale hologram projections enable quick field inspections, so users can see and fully experience the BIM model to quickly identify discrepancies between the design and installed conditions.

One-click issue capture and reporting

Take a picture of BIM model interaction with existing infrastructure, mark up photos, and upload to a shared project management folder.

Status tracking made simple

Easily track projects by clicking and changing the installation progress status, generate Excel spreadsheet reports, and import statuses to Navisworks with color codes.

Stream BIM onsite to remote workers

Create leaner workgroups and eliminate onsite meetings. Virtual design and construction (VDC) managers, project managers, designers, and first-line workers can communicate in real-time and work with full-scale models.

More alignment options for better AR

VisualLive has multiple alignment options available for any site or setup, including the AI-based Anchor Lock. Place QR codes in your construction site to quickly and efficiently adjust the model placement.

Josh Engelbrecht, SW Regional Field Tech Engineer, DPR Construction

“It’s a tool on a utility belt that we can use to really emphasize our VDC workflows. The models that the VDC manager creates in the office are collaborated on with the subcontractors, so design teams are now expanded into the field.”

Josh Engelbrecht, SW Regional Field Tech Engineer, DPR Construction
Megan Coffland, Project Manager, BNBuilders

“We brought out this technology to show the stakeholders that what they wanted to do wasn’t going to work in the space that was half-constructed. It was great to have the stakeholders that invested in the technology say ‘whoa, why didn’t we know about this?’”

Megan Coffland, Project Manager, BNBuilders

Frequently asked questions

Why is Unity sunsetting VisualLive?

After careful consideration, we’ve concluded that it’s time to focus our efforts and resources on projects that have the potential for greater impact. Unity will continue to support partner application developers who want to build great end-user applications and focus on delivering top-tier technology for these products and partners. We feel this strategy better serves the specialized use cases of the AEC market.

When is the last day to purchase VisualLive?

The last day to purchase VisualLive via your Unity Client Partner is June 30, 2023. All purchases made through June 30, 2023 will be respected for their one-year subscription period per the Terms of Service. Maintenance support as outlined in the terms of service for VisualLive will end one year later, on June 30, 2024. During the maintenance period, no new features will be added, and VisualLive will only be supported with minor bug fixes.

I am a current subscriber of VisualLive, what does this mean for me?

As a VisualLive user, you can continue to use the product as usual through the end of your active subscription or June 30, 2024, whichever comes first. At the end of your subscription, you will lose access to VisualLive, any stored project data, and VisualLive support resources.

Does sunsetting VisualLive mean Unity is divesting from AEC and other industrial use cases?

No. Unity’s Accelerate Solutions team continues to work alongside AEC clients to bring custom, scalable applications to market. To learn more about this work, click here.
