What do I need to get started?

You need a powerful computer running Unity 2019.3 or 2018.4 with a VR-ready graphics card and the Unity plugin for Interact.

Do I need to have CAD software (e.g., Catia, Solidworks, Siemens NX) installed?

Interact is a plug-in for Unity. You do not need any computer-aided design CAD software to use it. With Interact, users can directly import native CAD files to Unity.

Is Interact compatible with CAVEs or clustered VR systems?

Yes, Interact is compatible with CAVEs and powerwalls and can manage clusters and tracking systems, including ART and OptiTrack.

What is the recommended hardware and software configuration?

You need to have a VR-ready computer. The more powerful it is, the more objects you will be able to load in the same scene. 

Minimum configuration: GTX 1070, Core i7, 16 Go RAM 

Interact supports Windows 10 only.

Do I need a VR system to benefit from Interact?

Interact can be used on a desktop, but VR gives you extended functionality.

Does the physics engine support collisions with complex parts?

Yes, the XDE physics engine handles collisions with concave or convex meshes. You can activate collision for the most complex mesh geometries. The precision of the collision detection strongly depends on the tessellation quality.
