Unity Vector data health checklist

Unlock the full potential of Unity Vector by connecting a rich set of data signals to inform optimization decisions and boost performance over time. Use this checklist to learn which data sets to connect to build your optimization foundation in Unity Vector.
MMP integrations
Attributed, unattributed, and organic flag for all installs and post-install events
- Why it matters: Connects acquisition, conversion, and player value signals.
- How to connect: In your MMP's Unity partner settings, enable sending of unattributed and organic events.
Postback window (set to lifetime)
- Why it matters: Unity Vector works best when it has historical data across multiple cohorts to learn user behavior patterns over time.
- How to connect: In your MMP's Unity partner settings, set the event postback window to Lifetime.
Unity Ads SDK
The Unity Ads SDK is a software package that developers integrate directly into their app or game to enable ad serving. Once installed, it acts as the bridge between your application and Unity's ad network, handling everything from fetching and displaying ads to tracking performance metrics.
- Why it matters: Provides cleaner ad experience and purchase validation signals.
- How to connect: Update to the latest version. For iOS, Install via CocoaPods or manually. For Android, use the following directions.
Android license key (for Android only)
- Why it matters: Helps ensure purchase receipts are validated against Google Play.
- How to connect: Configure license key from your Unity Grow Dashboard.
Unity IAP SDK
Unity In-App Purchase (IAP) SDK provides a unified system for implementing and managing in-app purchases across the native app stores like Apple App Store and Google Play. With the release of Unity IAP 5.4, the SDK moves beyond managing just the native app store transactions and unlocks off-platform D2C commerce to sell directly to players routed through in-game web payments and a free, no-code webshop builder. You can now manage your entire commerce stack–both on-platform IAP through native app stores and off-platform D2C–using one unified catalog and dashboard. Additionally, you can run the native app stores & D2C in parallel enabling things like A/B testing and progressive roll out easily.
- Why it matters: Strengthens purchase validation and revenue visibility.
- How to connect: Use the following directions to update to the latest version.
Google Analytics
- Why it matters: Adds behavioral context and player engagement signals that attribution alone cannot provide.
- How to connect: Use the following directions
Runtime Data
- Why it matters: Unlocks runtime signals that help provide additional context on how players experience the game.
- How to connect: Configure in the Unity Editor (Diagnostics)
Permissions
Developer data for Unity Ads
- Why it matters: Enables approved Unity Ads to use eligible runtime and behavioral signals for optimization.
- How to connect: Configure in the Unity Dashboard
Connecting your MMP, SDK, Google Analytics, Runtime, and IAP data gives Unity Vector stronger signals to optimize with, but only when the right permissions are enabled to activate them. More complete signals support clearer decisions, better optimization, and stronger performance over time.
