SheerID is the partner Unity uses to confirm that an applicant is a verified educator or educational institution. The verification process must be completed before requesting the Unity Education Grant License.

SheerID verification is the first step. After completing this, please make sure to submit an Education Grant License request. We have seen situations where an applicant finishes the SheerID verification but doesn’t complete their request. In order to be considered for the license, please complete all the aforementioned steps.

When an educational institution doesn’t exist in the SheerID database, it can take up to a few days for verification. In these cases, SheerID requests documentation from the applicant to ensure the authenticity of their affiliation with an education institution.

If you have been prompted to upload additional documents, you will receive an email from SheerID when your verification is complete. If your verification takes longer than five business days, please contact SheerID directly at customerservice@sheerid.com.

Only one Unity ID can be associated with the Education Grant License. If you need to change the email address associated with your Unity ID, please follow these instructions.
