Very quickly and easily add lens flares and light streaks effects automatically generated from the frame buffer.

SRP data driven lens flares allow the authoring and rendering of lens flares effects from various light sources, like the sun (directional light), point lights or spot lights.

They are very convenient to have fine grain and artistic control over the lens flares of specific lights allowing as well off screen lens flares to create a cinematic look. They have also been created in the same spirit as our Built-in lens flares, with many additional options.

However, SRP data driven lens flares require lens flares to be manually placed on each light or emissive source and don't take into account view dependent highlights.

Screen Space Lens Flares address these issues, at the price of not having individual control on each light source, and not allowing off screen lens flares.

Both Screen Space Lens Flares and SRP lens flares can be used at the same time for both fine grain control over specific lights and lens flares generations based on bright areas.

Screen Space Lens flares is a post processing effect available both for URP and HDRP, with algorithms that might be different to improve performance on mobile or take into account HDRP's physical light units. Performance budget should be similar to Bloom.
