What do I need to begin development on console platforms?

Before gaining access to the build modules, you have to apply for developer status and require approval from each of the platform holders in order to develop for their platforms. Additionally, an active Unity Pro subscription (or with a Preferred Platform license key provided by the respective platform holder) is required for development on these closed platforms.

Can I build and deploy to closed platforms (like Nintendo, PlayStation, or Xbox) with Unity Pro?

Yes, you can build and deploy to closed platforms such as Nintendo Switch™, PlayStation®, Xbox®, and Google Stadia with an active Unity Pro subscription (or with a Preferred Platform license key provided by the respective platform holder). You will also require approval from each platform holder in order to develop for their platforms. Do I and/or my team own the content I/we create with Unity Pro?

Yes. You fully own the content you create with Unity, even if you cancel your subscription.
