What? ML-Agents is our package for training reinforcement learning models. It currently depends on Barracuda, the predecessor to Sentis, to run local inference of its models. We plan to replace Barracuda with Sentis.

Why? There should only be a single neural inference engine in the Unity ecosystem, and Sentis offers far better performance and compatibility than Barracuda. Sentis is also our go-forward and formally supported inference solution.

*Note: Barracuda is not in active development or support, but sunset plans for Barracuda are still TBD.
