Game Player and App User Privacy Policy
Last Edit/ Review: July 24, 2025
Last Updated: July 24, 2025
1. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
These FAQs provide a handy entry point to our longer and more comprehensive Game Player and App User Privacy Policy (“Privacy Policy”) (below). They enhance rather than replace the important notices in this Privacy Policy, which governs our collection, use, storage, and sharing of the information that we collect or receive from you.
What’s new as of July 24, 2025?
On July 24, 2025, we made the following updates to our Privacy Policy:
- Updated to include ironSource, Inc. within the scope of this Privacy Policy;
- Updated to reflect changes prompted by newly enacted privacy laws in three U.S. states;
- Updated Unity's office address in San Francisco, California;
- Updated to include demographic data set(s);
- Updated to include our new Unity Rewards app. This includes adding a Notice of Financial Incentive to explain how the rewards program works in exchange for your engagement and data, as required by certain US state laws, as well as other related information throughout the policy; and
- Edited formatting and language to clarify information.
The difference between an edit/review and an update is that "updates" involve material changes to our Privacy Policy whereas edits are not material or simply indicate a review has occurred. For example, we may make clarifying edits by giving additional examples. When we provide an update, you will receive a notice to accept and read the changes, which are summarized here.

We may share some of this information with our service providers who we contract with to help us provide our Services. Please note, while we collect country and birth date, this information is not stored.
Unity Advertising Services
Developers using Unity’s Advertising Services may offer any of the following three categories of applications: 1) child-directed (Users are likely children); 2) mixed audience (Users are both children and non-children); and 3) non-child directed (Users are unlikely to be children). If the application is a mixed audience, the Developer should implement an age-gate where required by law, and send a signal to Unity which indicates that we need to limit data collection, serve non-personalized ads, or otherwise disable the Service. The Developer similarly categorizes applications which are specifically child-directed. A child is considered to be any User under the age of consent in their applicable jurisdiction.
In connection with the Ads Service, in the event we receive a signal from a Developer, we reduce our data collection for our Ads Service. In such instances, we will only collect Personal Information listed below. We collect this Personal Information for internal operations and our legitimate interests in providing the Service as described below.
- IP address: Used to provide a compliant experience suitable for the User’s region.
- Unique Installation-specific ID: Used for operational purposes related to the serving of contextual advertisements.
- User ID: Used to provide rewards in exchange for watching an ad. Unity uses a developer-set identification ("User ID") to let the Developer know when a User with the User ID has completed the watched ad and is therefore entitled to receive the in-game reward (e.g., coin, gems).
In connection with the Web Offerwall service, in the event we receive a signal from a Developer, we will collect and maintain a service-specific identifier associated with the Developer’s application in order to enable a service block since the Unity Web Offerwall service is not intended for children.
Our Services are otherwise not intended for children. If you are aware that our Services are otherwise collecting Personal Information about children, please contact us at DPO@unity3d.com
If you or your parent or guardian have questions about this Privacy Policy or how we use your Personal Data of a child, contact us at DPO@unity3d.com.

Notice of Financial Incentive (Unity Rewards)
Unity may offer you certain benefits, such as the ability to earn Unity Coins that are redeemable for gift cards or other rewards, through programs like Unity Rewards app. When you participate in these financial incentive programs, we collect and use your personal information for the reasons listed above in the Policy as well as in this notice. This notice describes the material terms of the Unity Rewards app program, as required by the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and other US state privacy laws.
Summary of the Incentive Program
The Unity Rewards app allows you to earn Unity Coins, which can be redeemed for items like gift cards or other value, in exchange for your engagement with offers and advertisements presented within the Unity Rewards app.
Categories of Personal Information Collected
To operate the Unity Rewards program, we collect personal information when you sign up and as you use the service. The categories of information implicated by the program include:
- Identifiers: Such as your Advertising ID (e.g., GAID, IDFA), user IDs assigned by Unity or our partners, IP address, and email address.
- Internet or Other Electronic Network Activity Information: Such as your device type and model, operating system, browser and network information, engagement data (including ad clicks and impressions), session time, app events (like installing a game or completing a tutorial), and interactions with our platform features.
- Commercial Information: Such as your rewards transaction history, including points earned, points spent, redemption history, and the products you redeem.
- Information You Voluntarily Provide: Such as descriptions and communications you submit through customer service tickets.
- Security and Fraud Prevention Data: Such as data from reCAPTCHA, Play dIntegrity results, and information related to account status changes (e.g., suspensions).
How to Opt-In
By downloading the Unity Rewards app, agreeing to our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy during the sign-up process, and meeting any other registration requirements as outlined in the sign-up process, you are affirmatively opting in to participate in the financial incentive program.
Your Right to Withdraw
You have the right to withdraw from the Unity Rewards program at any time. Because the program's core function is the exchange of your data for rewards, withdrawing from the program is processed as a request to delete your personal information. Users can submit access and deletion requests through the settings of the application, or this form. For any other request, you may contact us at rewards-privacy-request@unity3d.com or DPO@unity3d.com.
Important Note: Please be aware that upon withdrawal, your account and all associated data, including any earned but unredeemed rewards or points, will be permanently deleted, subject to legal exceptions.
How the Incentive is Reasonably Related to the Value of Your Data
The rewards offered through Unity Rewards are reasonably related to the value of the personal data we collect as well as related to the value of the user's time spent on Unity and advertisers' platforms. We estimate your data's value using a revenue-attribution method that evaluates the contribution of your personal information and engagement to our platform's revenue streams, the effectiveness of personalized targeting and recommendations enabled by your data, the value delivered to our partners through user insights and acquisition, and the operational value of your engagement data for platform optimization.
This data and your time investment help us generate revenue by providing insights to advertisers and game developers, enabling them to deliver targeted offers and measure the effectiveness of their campaigns. Additionally, your data and platform engagement allow us to optimize the platform, improve the rewards program, and personalize your experience based on your gaming preferences and activity patterns.
The incentives you receive, such as redeemable rewards (e.g., coins) and the offers available for redemption, represent a meaningful portion of this calculated value and are proportional to both the engagement and value your participation brings to the platform and the time you invest in Unity Rewards and our partners' games. Our rewards program is designed to return a reasonable share of the value generated from your data and engagement back to you.
